The dark side chapter four

Chapter Four: Curious

I walked to the prison cell the content prisoner was sitting in. He looked up at me with a half hearted smile.

“Hello,” he said. “May I help you?” I stepped a little closer to the cage, which was as small as a barrel holding the special wine Mattiss drunk on special occasions.

“Who are you?” I asked, very confused at his smile. The prisoner leaped to his feet.

“My name is Bracus,” said the prisoner. He held out his hand which was very, very soiled. I shook it anyway.

“My name is Sapphire,” I said. “Princess Sapphire.” Suddenly his smile vanished.

“Princess, of the dark?” asked Bracus. “Your people burned my village down.” Suddenly I felt like someone had abused me.
“Is that a problem?” I asked. The smell of the dungeons was starting to get worse. Now it smelled like a necessary.

“Yes,” said Bracus. Bracus and I stood with our backs facing each other. After a while I turned around and faced Bracus.

“How do you do it?” I asked. Bracus looked at me with curious eyes.

“Do what?” he asked. A spider crawled across Bracus’ lap. He squished it.

“How do you stay down here without dieing?” I asked again. He looked at me with thoughtful eyes.

“I just stay happy,” answered Bracus.
